Stockinette and decreases via Ssk. Silk Hankie flowers with locks as leaves, have pin backs so they may be used on hat or elsewhere to coordinate!
This was the first time I've done this and it was great FUN!

2. Woven Shawl

I wove this shawl on a Triangle Loom, and needle-felted the collar with accents of chartreuse sheep's locks and hot pink silk (hankie).

As I wove, the brilliant autumn sun shone through the large window behind the loom, blazing through the warp threads and dancing off of the iridescent ribbons and novelty yarns. Through the spaces of the warps I could see glimpses of the metamorphosing autumn leaves, as they changed from green to bright pink and burgundy and then to orange -- as if in harmony with the progression of the wefts.

3. Ski Hat

Attached are my photos. I included one of the front of the hat with me wearing it. After I took the picture, I realized it didn’t show all the yarns, so I included a picture of the hat by itself. My extra thing is little yellow felt balls. They are attached with the red mohair. There is also a little of the mohair knitted at the top of the hat. I didn’t wind up using as much of it as I had originally planned, because it kept sticking to my fingers. I love working with textures, so I am really happy with how this turned out. I had never thought about knitting with bobble ribbon before, but I love the result. I can’t wait for the weather to turn cold so I can hit the slopes in my new ski hat! The thrumbed locks are going to make it really warm.

I was really surprised to find that I could “felt” the silk. I expected to have to tack it down, like the bobble ribbon, but those little threads just stuck themselves down in the felt and stayed put J

7. Necklace

As you can see, I had a bit of each contest fiber left after making
the vest. Instead of a yarn, the thing I added here was wire. I first
twisted the fibers and wire together and then coiled/wrapped it to
make beads of various combinations and strung them on the thick/thin
yarn and the bit of red-orange ribbon that was left. My daughter (the
model for the "front" photo) can't wait to wear it at college --
unbeknownst to me, this sort of necklace is "hot" among the
fashion-conscious. For myself, I just like the bright colors and funky
textures! It looks great with the vest if you wear black pants and a
black turtleneck! BTW, I guess it counts as an accessory -- sorry!

8. Party Poncho

Attached are my six photos for the Fiber Challenge. I want to thank you for the opportunity to participate. I've never done anything like this before and was a little hesitant - but I am so glad that I did. I found myself stretching my creativity beyond anything I've done before. (for someone who grew up convinced she was not creative this is pretty big). I had so much fun coming up with the idea, then finding new yarns and trying things I would have never tried without this challenge. Thank You.

Now a little about my entry. I chose Sally Melville's Yarn Party Poncho from her Book 3: Color (also available as a free download at www.knittinguniverse.com) and made some modifications. I used Classic Elite Desert as my thick/thin Chautreuse as a base yarn throughout the poncho. Then knitted four different scarves using Cascade Yarns Bobble (blue green textured novelty) the FFF Jolliet as my red orange ribbon, Artful Yarns Portrait for my variegated mohair then added Knit Pick Suri Dream. I joined the scarves using my hot pink silk cocoons (thanks for the video). Finally in place of the Fringe I used the yellow breen locks knitted in as a fuzzy border.

Again - thanks for the challenge I had so much fun and can't wait to try something new again next year!

10. Crochet Bag

This was a fiber challenge indeed. Colors that I never used mixed together, argh! Textures of yarn and different weights all mixed together. I almost gave up before I began. However, as I worked on the project, I realized how interesting the red and gold ribbon was and will probably use something similar again. I also liked working with the silk hankies, pulling them out thin enough to crochet with. Thank you for a great experience that expanded my world and I even like my finished project. Lili
