Materials: 1 sk Banana Silk Needles: US 9
Instructions: Cast on 102 sts. Join in the round, taking care not to twist the stitches. Place a SPLIT ring marker at the join. You need to use a split ring marker because this rib migrates and so you will need to readjust your "beginning" of the round every round. Row 1: *k2, p4* Row 2: *T2, p4* Row 3: *k2, p4* to last 6sts and k2, p3. You now have 1 stitch on the left needle before the marker. Move the marker over so it is between the last stitch knit and this "remaining" stitch. Now repeat rows 2 and 3 eight more times, keep moving the marker over to the right every other row. Decrease Row: *T2, p1, p2tog, p1* around Next Row: *k2, p3* around to last 5 sts and *k2, p2* around. Shift marker Work 2 rows even as follows: Row 1: *T2, p3* around Row 2: *k2, p3* around to last 5 sts and *k2, p2* around. Shift marker Second Decrease Row: *T2, p2tog, p1* Next Row: *k2, p2* around to last 4 sts and *k2, p1*. Shift marker and work next rows as follows: *T2, p2* around *k2, p2* to last 4 sts and *k2, p2tog*. Shift Marker Work as follows until desired length and bind off. *T2, p1* *k2, p1*
T2= knit the next 2 sts together, but before you remove them from the needle, insert the tip of the right needle thru the first stitch again and knit it alone and then remove both sts from the left needle. This causes the two sts to twist around each other for a sort of "faux" cable look.
