Also available in brown, this dark navy skirt pairs beautifully with the vest shown below. Garter stitch knit with multiple strands of very fine silk it has a beautiful drape. >
Alone, or paired with the skirt above, for a really classic but original outfit. Knit using multiple strands of a fine silk.
This is not soft...in fact it's quite scratchy....but it has a great stitch and terrific texture and for a layering look is fabulous! Available in this green only.
This simple garter stitch silk and paper moire vest looks MUCH better in person than my photography has captured. It is really elegant looking. Available in the color shown....which is sort of an off white/tan silk boucle paired with a taupe colored paper moire.
This pineapple fiber bag kit comes with nice leather straps and it is a nice size. Great texture and should be really durable. Three shades of brown and white.
Although this is not Habu's most popular selling kit, this and the shawl collared kit 53 above were the most popular kit among my local customers who came to the trunk show. 3/4 sleeves and a nice organic/ripply bottom made it very appealing. The yoke is knit 2 different strands (cotton and stainless steel) held together and the bottom a single strand of stainless steel for a shear and lightweight cardigan. Available in dark brown....the mushroom shade shown above can be ordered, but since everyone that was here for the trunk show ordered the dark brown, it was clearly more popular and so that is the color I stock.
For those of you who want a little more edginess, this shippo tail jacket is knit using stainless steel and paper. I'm knitting it and it's quite strong and the tails are fun to play with since the stainless steel allows you to pinch, pull and form them into different shapes.
Habu Felt Stainless Steel Scarf (Kusha Kusha) $25.00
This scarf kit I've had for a while and is a hugely popular novelty. It's a good project if you want a no-brainer knit as all it requires is changing needle sizes 3 times along the 80" length (us 4, 6, & 8).
I have to say, I didn't exactly follow Habu's direction on this scarf and the first couple of crochet bobbles drove me NUTS...then I realized I was just crocheting too tightly and when I loosened up and just connected the strands here and there as I chose (rather than stick to their more regimented points of connection) this scarf became a fun and easy crochet!
Another not so soft, but very interesting stitch and texture combination of linen and silk, this kit is also elegant.
This extended rib cardigan is bordered at the bottom and the cuffs with a couple inches of just the stainless steel which ripples and creates a soft and flirty edging. Simple to knit. Sort of a charcoal gray and black colorway.
