Old World Lace This rectangular shawl is designed for a fingering weight yarn. My sister knit it up and said it was really easy. So if you're new to lace and don't want the fussiness of some of the more intricate shawl patterns, this rather contemporary take on the traditional lace patterns is a good choice. Shown below, the model is knit up in a new cotton-silk blend yarn I'm expecting in the next couple of weeks (Lyndon Hill). This shawl could also be knit in Buckingham Lace, which is the same gauge and from the same manufacturer, but is alpaca and silk. This alpaca silk yarn features a soft hand and lovely drape. Check back in a couple of weeks for more colors of the cotton yarn. Regardless of which yarn is chosen, the kit includes the yarn and pattern and costs: $39.00
