Crochet belt using Noro's Daria (available at the store). Just 2 skeins crochet's up quickly into this terrific belt.

I've shown these felted Kochuron mitts before, but this is a new color that Martha just knit up and they look great! And for only 1 skein and an evening of knitting, you can't go wrong making a dozen of them for XMAS gifts this year!

11/5

These adorable booties are knit from a Vivian Hoxbro pattern which is available both thru her latest book, Knit to be Square, as well as is featured in the latest Interweave Knits, Holiday Issue (both available at the store). The pattern includes directions for adult sizes as well. Fun to knit and a great way to use of odds and ends of fingering yarn, but if you haven't got that, both the Harrisville Fingering and the NFAC fingering are perfect.

This swing smocked tunic with 3/4 sleeves is knit in Noro's new Yuzen yarn...take a closeup look at the smocking details of this fun pattern.

Vivian Hoxbro's new book "Knit to be Square" has some fun and unusual patterns all based on mitered squares. This open scarf is one of the patterns and some adorable slippers (check back next week for a photo) that I'm working on are fun to knit. There are several interesting felted bags as well as some intriguing hats.

Entrelac Hat in Kochuron

Sideways Gloves in Silk Garden Sock Yarn

Wrist warmers in Expression...Betsy knit this up in a jif the other day. This is such a quick knit project, I think it took her longer to pick out buttons than to knit it up!

The new Debbie Bliss magazine is in stock and has lots of project ideas featuring the Bliss yarns, many of which we stock.

9/10

Okay, so I didn't get anything knit this week so I have no "show & tell" for you (lots of 7/8 finished projects still on needles so I should have more next week)!

But here are some ideas for you to think about...

Knitting for a man? A couple of new yarns and pattern books just for men have arrived for you to peruse.

Here's another free pattern that I'm knitting up in Silk Garden Sock Yarn...one ball is enough. This old handwritten pattern has been around forever in my sister Joany's stash of "oldies-but-goodies" and I don't know where it originally came from but it's a fun way to practice short row shaping and in the Silk Garden Sock Yarn is making a fun pair of gloves.

Did you see the new issue of Felt Magazine? The rugs my sisters, nieces and I did for our annual family felting project are featured in this issue and I'm offering a class on the basic felting technique (but on a much smaller scale) this December. So check out the magazine (available in the store) and the class (felted table runner) for a new holiday project idea.

Baby Cable Raglan

Cashmere Baby Cable Hat

Booties and Baby Helmet in Cot-Soy

Washcloths-various patterns. These are knit out of 1824 Cotton (maize) and Hemp6 (dk blue), but the bamboo yarns would also be great...especially since bamboo has a natural antibacterial/antifungal element to it. The Bathtime Blossoms pattern (shown in dark blue hemp) has 3 different patterns on it, each including directions for a circular washcloth and a soap cachet. The 1824 cotton and Honeycomb stitch patterns are easy to knit and make great kitchen cloths. Did you know that the most bacteria laden aspect of most kitchens is the sponge?

Eco-wool throw...my sister just knit this throw in 4 natural colors of the Eco-wool. It is a simple garter stitch, mitered square pattern that knit up quickly and it feels great! It could be done with just 4 skeins ($60).

Sublime & D. Bliss designs for summer tops

Sublime & Ella Rae designs for kids & babies

Extrafine merino baby cardigan. This sweet ruffled cardigan is shown in stripes in the pattern book, but looks just as sweet in a solid color. The pattern is in Sublime #2 for babies and the yarn is Sublime's extrafine merino.

Both of these lace cardigans can be knit in merino-kid which has just arrived in new colors for the spring. These sweaters make the perfect spring transitional sweater. Lightweight but warm...you don't feel any bulk, but the soft kid merino blends, with or without silk, are warm and cozy and perfect to take the chill off your shoulders. I find myself wearing these almost daily in the store now that the temperatures are approaching the usual damp and chilly springtime levels!
