Coopworth This particular fleece is a hoggit, which means it is the first clip from this animal and it was not sheared until the animal was 1 year...so its lambswool fine and long! This particular fleece was also an award winner. A lovely dark color with slightly blond highlights on the tips should card up into a lovely medium greyish-brown. The photo on the right shows the fleece unwashed and on the right is some I just washed up. By next week I should have some carded and spun. This fleece is sold raw...neither washed nor carded. I offer it here for those of you who are interested in trying this particular breed of sheep, but don't want to buy, wash, card, and spin or felt an entire fleece! This fleece is uniform, clean & well skirted so it is easy to wash and prepare. After washing and either carding or combing , I would expect you'd have 4-5 ounces from the 6 you started with....so enough for a hat, scarf or pair of mittens! Price per bag: $10
