Luxurious Rovings Five new luxurious rovings for spinning just arrived! In the top left corner of the photo in a beautiful cream white is a CVM, Cormo, & Tunis blend....very fine, soft and springy. The Cormo was bright white, the CVM had a hint of silvery grey, and the tunis a lovely light caramel and together they produced a gorgeous cream that has some depth of interest! Price: $30/8 oz ball If you want to learn a little more about the CVM or Cormo or Tunis breeds combined in this mix,, click on the links I offer here. I blended some gorgeous pygora (type B) with some beautiful dark silvery grey Border Leceister and white Blue Faced Leceister to produce the silver grey roving shown center top. It is 30% pygora, 70% wool. Incredibly soft and lustrous....wish you could feel it! Price: $34/8 oz On the far right is a dark chocolate grey roving that is Wenslydale Lamb and colored Kid Mohair (25%) that I had blended. The Wenslydale lamb fleeces were really dark black and the kid mohair a lighter brown (both first and second clip kid). This is silky soft and lustrous....Price: $34/8 oz ball Pictured bottom left is a 25% tussah silk (this was a caramel colored, not bleached tussah) 75% black Cormo Cross (really long, but fine and springy fleeces) blend. I'll spin some up this week so check back for a picture of the skein, but I had them combined so that when spun you'd get a tweedy, heathery look rather than a solid. Price: $34/8 oz The dark charcoal gray roving shown bottom right is 100% wool - I blended both Rambouillet and Cormo Crosses that were dark brown, so this roving is fine and springy. Perfect to spin long draw for a really insulating yarn....Price: $28/8 oz |
