Rigid Heddle Looms -great for kids and adults!! WOW...this original special sold out quickly so now we're offering Hand on Rigid Heddle Weaving with the loom (instead of Ideas in Weaving) ....and although I've ordered new looms, I can't guarantee they'll be here by XMAS, but we can send you a gift certificate to put under the tree!

Both brands are really nice looms and are equally easy to set up and weave on. The Kromski Harp folds, so some of my customers who do a lot of boating on the lake find the extra money worthwhile so that they can keep the loom compact on deck when not in use. They both have optional stands that can be purchased, as well as additional rigid heddle reeds available. The Ashford comes with a 10.5 dpi and the Harp with a 10 dpi reed.

Ashford 24" Rigid Heddle Loom (shown right) - $185.00

Kromski Harp; 24" Rigid Heddle Loom (shown left) - $241.50

This is another easy to set up and use loom that has a different aesthetic than the Ashford and offers a folding option (I've had several customers who boat a lot in the summer and love this feature!). Also comes with all the tools you need to warp the loom, plus 2 stick shuttles and a pick up stick and threading hook. This loom comes with a 10 dpi reed.

Drum Carder Special...great for felters and spinners alike!!

free bookThru XMAS, when you purchase either a Strauch (any model) or Ashford (any model) drum carder, you get the Ashford Book of Drum Carding Absolutely Free! so you (or the lucky recipient) have some wonderful fiber to play with on XMAS day with either the Ashford Fine, Ashford Wild or Strauch Petite....and with the Strauch Finest.....get 10 colors of merino top plus the book!

Ashford Fine

With 72 teeth/sq/in, this drum carder cards 2 oz batts at a time. Clamp and awl included. I've used this model for carding raw fleece in the medium to fine range and also have used it quite a bit for blending colors of merino top for felting projects. Nice aesthetics, solid machine (not fussy like my Patrick Greene). Price: $470

Ashford Wild Carder

With longer teeth (still 72 tpsi like the Fine, above) and a brush attachment, this new carder is fantastic for creating art batts......lovely batts with lots of texture and doo-dads for spinning or felting. Really... chunks of paper, snippets of yarn, silk cocoons, etc.....all can get worked into these batts! Narrower, so you'd think you can't card as much at a time, but because the teeth are long and flexible to allow for lots of textured items to be added, you actually get a good sized 1.5 oz batt from it! Price: $420

Strauch Petite

Featuring a 6.5" wide drum, 128 teeth per square inch, and a 4:1 ratio, this sweet little machine is perfect for carding raw fiber and blending exotics. I've used it to card raw fiber from fine wools like merino, bond, rambouillet and cormo to long and coarse wools like karakul and lincoln. And I've used it to blend yak, cashmere, alpaca, angora, flax, and silk into merino for felting projects. Comes with a brush attachment (even tho' my older model shown here doesn't have one....yours will!) so your batts are nice and even and you maximize the fiber in each batt. Price: $510

Strauch Finest

If you can swing it financially, this is the ultimate machine. Like the Petite it does a great range of fibers with it's 128 tpsi, but features the full size 8" wide drum and a ratio of 5:1 (even better for blending luxury fibers).

This model is also available in a double wide version (16"-talk about ultimate!) and also motorized (some day!) for even more efficiency. Call for prices and specials on the double wide and motorized units).

The standard Finest shown here is priced at $780.00 and comes with 10 hanks of different colors of merino top for the Holiday Special...absolutely free with your carder purchase. Price: $780.00
