Mirasol Yarns > Sulka Fair Trade Yarns > Sulka Sulka - This 60% merino-20% alpaca-20% silk yarn is incredibly soft and lustrous. You definitely need to enlarge the photos below to really appreciate the colors...many are rich and heathery and the dark chocolate brown and midnight black are hard to distinguish in the little photos but are really interesting colors up close. Also, the deep burnt orange looks a bit red in the small photo, but blow it up and you'll see how lovely it is. The wristlets on the right took 2 skeins to make and just a couple of hours. The original pattern is from One Skein Luxury Knits, although I continued the faux cable throughout the wristlet (in the book the designer switched to k1 p1 rib). The photo shows the wristlet on two different hands to show how flexible this pattern is with respect to sizing. I wear a size 8 glove and the hand mannequin is really small and the "one-size" wristlet fits beautrifully on both! Sulka knits at 4 sts/inch on US 10, has 55 yds/sk. The 3/4 sleeve cardi shown below hits my hip (it looks cropped in the photo but it isn't really) and features a lovely stitch and high turtle neck, if you want. The pattern calls for 20 skeins for a 42 3/4" chest size, so my first reaction is YIKES! But it is really classic in style and incredibly soft and luxurious to wear. If you're interested in buying enough for this fabulous cardigan, I'll throw in the book (has lots of other great patterns) and 2 sks for free!
