Laotian Silk Scarf Kit This scarf is knit in 100% silk that is naturally dyed. The silk is raised, harvested, handspun and hand-dyed with natural dyes in Laos. In Laos, the silk is naturally a light yellow (see skein below far right), and the other colors are achieved using the local Laotian plants (indigo, butea, laker). Featuring incredible luster, lovely drape and rich colors, each kit includes enough yarn to knit a dress scarf approx 5" x 45", the pattern and some information about the raising of silk. The scarf is knit on US size 10 needles and features a really simple lace pattern, tho' if lace seems like more than you want to take on, the yarn could easily must be knit in garter stitch stripes for a lovely scarf.
