Indulgence Distrato- unbelievably soft!! This 75% extrafine merino/25% polyamide yarn knits at a slightly heavier gauge than the typical sock yarn....so it's great if you're just starting out and want your sock to go a little quicker. This Indulgence line is also the softest I've felt. Soft, but it doesn't compromise durability. I personally love knitting with both the Supersocke and Heritage sock yarns too, but I'd have to say Indulgence is softer than either of my favorites and also compared to both Opal and Happy Feet, all of which we stock. So if softness is important to you, this is the sock yarn to go with. We use this slightly heavier gauge in the beginning sock classes here....it's just a faster knit, yet it's not so much heavier that it doesn't still fit nicely in a loafer! The label says 5.5 sts/inch, which I think it good if you're knitting a kids hat or sweater with it,, but for socks I think it is better at a tighter gauge of 6/inch. Needle size US 3-5. 1 ball/pair of socks....incredibly soft!! It's not just for socks....what a great kids hat or sweater it makes too ...soft and machine washable! Each ball has 426 yards.
