It is 40% cotton, 30% silk, and 15% wool (just to give it some memory) and 15% nylon. It has a whoppingand actually has a soft hand. There is a new Taiyo Sock yarn this spring (2011) also that is great for summer shawls. The new Knit Noro book (5/3/2011) features patterns for both the Patchwork Afghan and Baby Swirl Afghan shown below. The patchwork afghan shown below uses 17 sks. The baby Swirl afghan (check out our kit for a Swirl Shawl in merino, if you like this design) takes 6 sks and you can buy the book separately here. The baby blanket to the far right is a no brainer knit....perfect for summer mindless knitting....it uses 4 sks and measures 36 inches across (and obviously, it is round!)
