This page includes 2 different soft and cozy yarns that are blends of merino wool and alpaca. Both have a similar surface texture (they are blownin yarns) and are therefor lightweight and not dense and are recommended knit at 4-4.5 sts/inch on a US 8-9.
Katia's Concept Alpaca has been discontinued, but we have decent stock of certain colors, so I've left it up here for now. Best to call to check on a color if you are interested in it.
Katia's Concept Alpaca features 164 yards and the fiber content is 68% wool and 22% alpaca..
The Rowan Softest Alpaca is new for the fall 2026 and features a lovely soft palette that reminds me of natural dyes. Each of these skeins has 142 yards. This blend is 70% alpaca, 7% wool and 23% recycled nylon.
