Fiji & Amitola - Long Repeat Merino
Fiji is a 100% merino wool yarn that is machine washable and recommended knit at 5.5 - 6 sts/inch.
It features a long color repeat - a few examples shown in the gallery at left- and is mulesing free. You could use this alone for a wonderful zig zag or striped scarf, or pair it with a solid for a shawl or sweater (see example in the gallery).

Amitola is an 80% merino blend with 20% silk for a bit of luxury and extra softness. It is also recommended knit at 5.5 - 6 sts/inch.
And it also features a long color repeat - samples of this knit up in garments are shown in the gallery. Like the Fiji above, it is wonderful for accessories, as well as fun and colorful garments.

Price per ball of Amitola : $15.99
The two differences between them (aside from color choices, of course!) is that Fiji is machine washable and has more colors with long repeats but shorter intervals compared to Amitola which has slower gradations of color. The garments shown in the gallery using Amitola look less "gradient" because they alternate 2 different colorways to create more striping.
So if you want machine washability and striping - go with Fiji
If you want some extra softness, but more of a long gradient - go with Amitola.
