This 68% suri alpaca/32% nylon lace weight yarn is as beautiful knit alone as carried along with another yarn to add softness and warmth....the way many knitters use kid silk mohair!

The hat shown in the left gallery of photos shows 1 strand of the "olive" color Suri carried along with a strand of Cumbria (worsted) in a dark green. The Suri makes the hat much warmer (alpaca is 7 times more insulating than wool), softer, and it gives the otherwise solid green Cumbria, a "heatheriness".

So if you've shied away from using kid mohair this way because it can feel "picky" to some people, try the Suri in its place as this yarn is super soft.
