This scrumptious 80% extrafine merino/20% cashmere makes a wonderful weight for a lightweight garment.
The pullover shown in the gallery is a Ravelry Pattern called Merging Strands and it uses VIP in a dark teal green along with a sport weight, long repeat yarn (Amitola, Fuji, Zauberball, etc).
VIPis also a great choice for intricate colorwork mittens since the 7 st/inch gauge allows the intricate patterns in Estonian, Latvian, etc mittens to really shine!
Each 50 gm ball has 218 yards and it is recommended knit at 7-8 sts/inch on a US 1-3 needle.
The merino gives it lots of lovely memory/elasticity which cashmere lacks, but because it is "extrafine" merino and therefore a finer micron count than regular merino, it does't detract from the softness of the cashmere!
